Message from the President

It looks like November and Fall arrived together but we did have a great October. I hope everyone made it to the IES Progress Report-Report. And, in case you missed it, an overview of the presentation on the WELL Building Standard is available at iesnyc.org/InCaseYouMissedIt. They were very interesting and funny too.

If you have noticed, we have been and will continue to use outside locations for our programs and events during this year. Our home base at BE-Ex is expanding and under construction for the duration and I will be posting as the project progresses. On November 15th you can join a behind-the-scenes tour of the Center at the height of construction, guided by BE-Ex Executive Director, Richard Yancey. Visit be-exchange.org for details.

Save the date for the IESNYC Holiday Party on December 12. Our section, as well as the DLFNY, will be collecting at our holiday celebrations, unwrapped gifts and cash for the Marines Toys For Tots drive which is a very worthwhile charity. Stay tuned for details. I look forward to seeing you all there!

Sincerely,
Caleb Mckenzie, President
New York City Section of The Illuminating Engineering Society
