Message from the President

Well it looks like spring has finally arrived—and its about time!

The Section has been very busy as this is the 50th Anniversary of the IESNYC Lumen Awards. Last month we hosted a great program, 50 Years of Lumen –Then and Now, and featured an evening with some of our fantastic lighting designers — Francesca Bettridge and Stephen Bernstein, CBBLD; Suzan Tillotson, Tillotson Design Associates; Paul Marantz, Fisher Marantz Stone; Renee Cooley, Cooley Monato Studio; and Howard Brandston, Brandston Partnership. They had great stories to tell and projects to show. It was an evening not to be missed. A video of the event is available at

On Thursday, June 14 we will be hosting our Lumen Gala. It will be a celebration featuring world class projects by a group of national and international designers. Sponsorships for the Gala are still available. For more details, visit

Stay tuned for updates on our monthly programs – you don’t want to miss any of them.
