Message from the President

They say “There’s No Business Like Show Business.” It was a great night for the IESNYC Lighting Jeopardy 2.0! It was a fun, exciting, and educational evening full of surprises. The technicians, equipment, and sound effects made it seem just like the show. The last episode was 25 years ago and Gary Dulanski reprised his role as game show host and he was his charming and entertaining self. Our own irrepressible Joe Belfer composed the thought-provoking questions. Congrats to both for putting on a wonderful evening. With 40 people in attendance we had three sets of contestants chosen randomly with the winners of each round facing off in the Final Jeopardy round – and the winner was…Chuck Cameron! Thanks to all, including Monica Fuerderer and our Programming Committee. Visit our blog to see what your missed.

On behalf of the Scholarship Committee, I’m pleased to announce that Brigid Hardiman, a candidate in the MPS Lighting Design program at New York School of Interior Design (NYSID) has been selected to receive the 2019 IESNYC Merit Scholarship.

IESNYC has a fantastic line up of members who will be sharing their expertise at LEDucation 2019, March 12-13. Dan Blitzer, Anne Cheney, Kate Sweater, Rachel Gibney, Ted Mather, Anita Jorgensen, Nathalie Rozot, Clara Powell, Wendy Luedtke, Manny Feris, Peter Jacobson, Mitchell Bloomberg, and Shoshanna Segal will be discussing topics from codes, and controls, to lighting design!
