Registration Open for IES LC Study Group
The IES LC Study Group is designed for those planning to take the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions (NCQLP) Lighting Certification exam. This 10-week online Study Group is an interactive approach to preparing to write the exam. Candidates will develop a competency-focused prioritized study plan through expert facilitation.
Critical information: Enrollment in the LC Study Group is not mandatory in order to take the NCQLP exam. Enrollment in the LC Study Group will NOT register you to take the NCQLP LC Exam, nor ensure a passing score. Registration to take the exam is separate please go to www.ncqlp.org to register.
The Study Group
The all-virtual LC Study Group will be delivered by a team of qualified individuals from the Lighting Agora, led by Gerry Cornwell LC, and including instructors Dan Blitzer LC and Tom Butters LC.
All sessions are online (Zoom meetings) and from 7 to 9 pm Eastern Time Zone. Weeks 1-6 feature one session per week, weeks 7-10 feature two sessions per week. Each session will address relevant source material, review corresponding online resources, review quizzes, sample questions and case studies, etc.

Week 5, September 3: Exterior Applications, Light Trespass
Week 6, September 10: Standard 90.1, LEED
Week 7, Sept. 17 and 19: Photometry
Week 8, Sept 24 and 26: Calculations
Week 9, Oct 1 and 3: Controls and Daylighting
Week 10, Oct 8 and 10: Economics
Finish October 11: Open Q&A Session
The Exam is offered from October 14 through November 22, at test centers.
