2020 Perspective
Sponsorship Campaign

Since becoming president of the IESNYC in July, and during my years of serving on the IESNYC Board of Managers, I have been able to meet many of you. When I ask what the IESNYC means to you, most often the response I get is how much you enjoy and learn from our programs and events. They are educational, informative, entertaining, and offer a place for professional networking. The Section offers something for everyone - whether you are an award-winning lighting designer, manufacturers rep, an emerging professional who is just beginning their career in the industry, or a student, who is exploring the exciting career options our industry provides. But what I am most proud of, and hear about quite often, is the way the IESNYC fosters a sense of comradery between our members and the New York City lighting community at large.

The Section has a large and growing membership and a small army of dedicated managers and committee members who volunteer their time to help us fulfill our mission. However, it would be impossible for us to continue our important work without the support of our sponsors. If you’ve been a loyal sponsor over the years, I thank you. If you are a new sponsor, I welcome you to join us so we can continue our work.

The theme of this year’s Sponsorship Campaign – “2020 Perspective” – has a double meaning. We are beginning a new decade, one that promises the advent of new technologies and therefore, relevant information to explore and share at our program and events. It also means that we all have our own favorite initiatives whether it be our annual merit based IESNYC Scholarship, or Thesis Awards, the Student Lighting Competition, and our philanthropic work.

Lee Brandt, LC, LEED AP BD+C, IALD, MIES, and a principal at HLB Lighting Design, a long-time friend of the Section has graciously accepted the call to be our 2020 Campaign Sponsorship Spokesperson and we are honored that she did. During the upcoming year, she will add her voice to champion the Section.
We ask Lee…What’s your perspective?

"“A multi-faceted vision for the future of the Section goes hand-in-hand with our growth and success. The IESNYC offers access, connectivity, education, and credibility. Becoming the 2020 Campaign Sponsorship Spokesperson is personal and important to me because I want to “give back” as much as possible. If I were not a member of the Student Chapter of the IES at Penn State University, I probably would not be a lighting designer today. This same opportunity should be afforded to as many young designers as possible. The IESNYC Emerging Professionals Committee is a wonderful resource and doing amazing things. Sponsors can only help to grow this program and IESNYC outreach as well. My firm, HLB Lighting Design, is proud to support the IESNYC as a Studio Sponsor.

—Lee Brandt, Principal at HLB Lighting Design

We are once again offering Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Studio Sponsorships. The cost of these sponsorships has not increased for 2020. What has increased is our membership, attendees at our year-round programs, subscriptions to our monthly newsletter, and visits to our website – all of which gives your company the visibility and thanks it deserves.

As the largest Section in the IES, we are proud to have world renowned lighting designers, manufacturers, reps, professionals in allied fields, educators, and students in our ranks. We value each one of our members and take special pride that we all work together for the betterment of the lighting industry in New York City.

On behalf of the Board of Managers and the Sponsorship Committee, I hope we can count on your support of the IESNYC in 2020. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at [email protected] or email our Sponsorship Committee Chair, Colin Conroy

Thank you again for your continued support.
