Join the Building Energy Exchange as they kick off the fourth year of their Women in Sustainability and Energy (WISE) series, with a keynote event featuring Alicia Barton, president and CEO of the New York State Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA).
Barton leads all aspects of NYSERDA’s operations, including implementing Reforming the Energy Vision (REV), Governor Cuomo’s strategic plan to convert New York’s economy to 50% renewable energy by 2030 – one of the most ambitious energy mandates in the nation.
Donna De Costanzo of the Natural Resource Defense Council (NRDC) will moderate this one-on-one discussion, drawing on audience questions as well as her own professional experience. In her role as the Eastern region director of Climate & Energy at NRDC, De Costanzo advocates for the implementation of policies that increase the deployment of energy efficiency, renewable energy, and clean transportation options.
The conversation will explore the work Ms. Barton is leading at NYSERDA to transform New York’s energy landscape, and the ways in which her previous professional experiences in law, government, and the utility sector have shaped the work she is doing today.
