Howard Brandston, Lighting Legend
With the utmost respect and deep appreciation for his significant lighting design contributions, IESNYC acknowledges the passing of the inimitable Howard Brandston. He maintained an ardent passion for the careful application of and respect for the power of light. His unique perspective on emerging technologies and skepticism of research provoked challenging dialogue in the lighting community, engaging anyone within hearing distance. Howard was a mentor, businessman, author, critic, journalist, humorist, and student advocate. He left an indelible mark in the industry, locally and universally, for which we are grateful.
The IESNYC History Committee will be announcing a Special Program covering the life and achievements of Howard Brandston. Please stay tuned for details.
A memorial service is being planned for May, and we will keep IESNYC Members apprised.
