ICYMI - Virtual IESNYC Birthday Celebration Trivia Style
Did you Miss Out on Attending the IESNYC’s 114th Birthday Virtual Celebration?
Melissa Goren (MGEngineering) of the Programs Committee and a group of IESNYC history aficionados compiled a list of 50 trivia questions such as “Who was the only past president of IESNYC to serve two terms?” (Frank Conti) and "What company was founded the same year as the first Superman comic was published?” (Harry Gerstel’s Gotham Lighting). The contest was emceed by the extraordinarily talented Gary Dulanski (The Dulanski Group). Manny Feris (Lutron) took an early lead after the first half and he held on to it to become the winner, with Scott Hershman and Rebecca Mintz finishing as close runners-up.
Proceeds from the winners will be donated to charities including The Jordan Falco Memorial Fund. We encourage you to read about the fund and contribute.
During “intermission,” Jesse Coletta (Lighting Workshop) mixed a special cocktail – “Flight of Fancy” for the party. We had four different chat rooms so attendees could virtually mingle and schmooze with other members. We also had “commercials” promoting the Section by James O’Blaney (O’Blaney Rinker), Megan Carroll (NY Digital) and our own president, Mike Barr (Lutron), who the next day commented that “if you missed the event, you missed a night of camaraderie and catching up with friends and co-workers."
These videos will give you a glimpse of the fun time we had!
