IES Webinar Roadway Safety
December 3, 2020 | 12:00pm
A Vision Zero focus and discussion on how we design can improve safety. We can all provide examples and discuss various items such as intersection lighting and crosswalks, surround lighting, etc.
The Vision Zero Network is helping communities across the nation mobilize to address the crisis of 40,000 traffic deaths a year in this country, and millions more injuries. They are bringing key stakeholders together to declare that “Enough is Enough,” recognizing these tragedies as preventable with the right strategies and commitment. Their goal is safe mobility for all. To learn more, visit: visionzeronetwork.org
New York City, the country’s longest standing Vision Zero program, has developed an impressive and rigorous Vision Zero program life cycle and monitoring system to strategically coordinate and track progress among no fewer than 11 city departments, as well as other stakeholders. The careful coordination among the departments and internal strategies used to consistently track and evaluate safety efforts stand as a model for other Vision Zero cities. Download a PDF here.
Webinar participants are eligible for one (1) IES Continuing Education Unit (CEU).
