Effective July 1, 2019, Mike Barr, MIES, a senior account executive at Lutron Electronics Inc., became the official 93rd President of the IESNYC. For the past two years, Barr has served as the IESNYC’s vice president. In addition, he has chaired the Finance Committee, the Nominations and Awards Committee, co-chaired the Sponsorship Committee, coordinates the IESNYC Thesis Awards, and has been a long-standing member of the IESNYC Board of Managers. He was worked at Lutron Electronics for almost 40 years with the last 15 years in the New York Metro Area working closely with the design community.

It’s a humbling honor to be given the opportunity to lead the largest section of the IES,” says Barr. “Its rich history can be intimidating, but only serves as a statement of the great work we can do as a section.

Peter Jacobson, MIES, has become the Section’s Vice President. He is Con Edison’s lighting specialist and liaison to the lighting industry, a role he has held since 1991. A long-standing member of the IESNYC Board of Managers, Jacobson has also served on many IESNYC committees and he is a member of the IES Progress Report Committee.
