enLIGHTen: IES International Year of Light Photo Contest 2015
In celebration of 2015 as the International Year of Light as proclaimed by UNESCO, the Emerging Professionals of IESNA (Illuminating Engineering Society of North America) are giving you a reason to share your love for lighting for the next 6 months. Every month the IES will announce a “Theme of the Month” to which you will post “lighting” photos related to the chosen theme. You can post as many photos as you wish and at the end of each month, for bragging rights only, we will announce our favourite photo of the month. In August, a group of industry professional judges will select the top 3 entrants based on their photo originality, uniqueness, relevance to the theme of the month, activity and interaction with the public.

How to Enter
- All photos must be post through one of the following social media platform @Twitter or @Instagram or email [email protected]
- All photos must be posted within the Photo Contest time frame. The contest starts February 1, 2015 and closes July 31, 2015 at 11:59pm. Photos posted outside of this time frame will be automatically disqualified.
- All posts must be lighting related and to the theme of the month. Photo entries each month must match the current theme of the month. Entries that do not match the current theme or represent a theme in the past month will not be considered.
- All photos must include the following hashtags #IYL2015 #IESNA #enLIGHTen #PhotoContest #themeofthemonth
- Optional hashtags to include #lighting #lightingdesign
- Unlimited photos per contestant.
Rules & Regulations
- By submitting photo(s), you agree that you own all copyrights in the photograph. You represent and warrant that photographs have not been copied in whole or in part from any other work, do not violate or infringe any copyright, moral right, trademark or other proprietary right of any person or entity.
- Photos must not be offensive in nature, must not contain illegal acts in them, and must be in line with the values of IESNA.
- By submitting photo(s), you agree that any person(s) in the photo(s) have provided their consent in allowing their picture to be entered into the #IESNA #IYL2015 #PhotoContest. Failure to obtain such consent will deem the entry ineligible.
- By submitting photo(s), you agree to allow the photo(s) to be shared by IESNA on their website and through their social media platforms. IESNA is NOT responsible for photos being reposted to third party websites and social media services, such as Facebook or Twitter.
- If a winner cannot be contacted within one week (7 days) or a winner refuses the prize, the prize will be awarded to the next runner-up.
- To be eligible to win a grand prize, you must be 18 or older and a registered Emerging Professional or a Student Member of IES.
