WISE Briefing with Nilda Mesa
July 28, 2015
6:00pm–7:30pm
Last March, Building Energy Exchange launched WISE–Women in Sustainability and Energy. This exciting program series brought together inspirational female leaders from a diversity of fields who are accelerating sustainability programs and energy agendas to share their professional experiences and achievements. WISE became a platform for exchanging ideas and inspiring action, supporting the leaders of today and engaging the next generation of women in this critical industry.
Join BEEx as they bring together past and future WISE successes with Nilda Mesa, Director of NYC Mayor’s Office of Sustainability. The evening will kickoff with a presentation of the March program briefing, showcasing the invigorating conversations, highlighting the community impact, and identifying steps forward. Jill Anderson, Senior Vice President of Public Affairs & Business Development at New York Power Authority and moderator of the first WISE session Clean Energy Innovation, will lead a "fireside chat" with Mesa. During this talk, Mesa will speak about opportunities to incorporate the latest technology, financing and green building innovations into the City’s sustainability plan, along with her experiences on leveraging and utilizing women networks throughout her career. Attendees will have the opportunity to network both before and after the program over wine and beer.
This evening will be one of several WISE events throughout the year that are developed and organized based on attendee interest. The inaugural WISE sessions in March received a high level of enthusiasm and support–over 330 professionals attended and over 160,000 were engaged through on social media. BEEx is excited to leverage this enthusiasm and provide a forum for professionals of all levels and backgrounds.
