IES 2016 Annual Conference Funding Opportunity

In an effort to contribute to the success of the IES 2016 National Conference, the New York City Section of the IES (IESNYC) is offering funding opportunities so that IES members nationwide, who might not otherwise be able to attend the conference, can do so. Funding recipients will receive a reimbursement of up to $1000.00 for travel, lodging and conference registration fees.  The IESNYC Board of Managers (BOM) will select members based upon the qualifications stated below. The number of funding opportunities to be awarded is solely at the discretion of the IESNYC BOM.

Applications must be filed by August 31, 2016

Funding recipients will be notified on or about September 7, 2016

Application Process

Interested members must answer all questions in the online form below no later than August 31, 2016 in order to be considered a candidate for funding. Two letters of recommendation, one each from their section president and their regional director or district chair, must be uploaded with the application.

Eligibility

  • Candidates must be a member of good standing in the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES).
  • Members from the New York City or Orlando sections are not eligible.
  • Funding is NOT transferable.


Note: Special consideration will be given to candidates who are from an underrepresented section as advised by National IES, candidates who live farthest from the conference location, and candidates who have demonstrated strong section service levels as indicated by recommendation letters.


Compliance

  • Members who accept funding from the IESNYC must register and attend the IES Conference. Conference registration can be found here: ies.org/ac
  • After the conference, members must submit a copy of all necessary receipts for reimbursement.
  • In the event a candidate cannot attend the conference, reimbursement for hotel cancellations, airline rebooking or cancellation fees, service upgrade fees, as well as any conference fees no longer refundable are not available for reimbursement.
  • Members must submit a summary of their experiences at the conference and agree to be interviewed by the IESNYC’s public relations representative for inclusion in Section promotional materials.
