2011 NYC Energy Code Compliance Course

As part of The Cooper Union’s Continuing Education Department’s Green Building Design
Certificate Program, one of the few LEED prep initiatives offered in New York City, The
Cooper Union and the NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) have teamed to bring the most
in-depth course available in the 2011 Energy Conservation Code. The Energy Code
Compliance Course is the only one that specifically covers New York City compliance
requirements and provides 14 professional development credits.
The six-module course, taught by experts from DOB and Viridian Energy & Environmental, LLC, consists of two daylong sessions addressing technical issues and strategies: Administrative Overview;
Residential Requirements;
Commercial Envelope Requirements;
Commercial HVAC 1 and 2; and
Commercial Lighting and Power Requirements.
The New York City Energy Conservation Code applies to all new building and alteration
applications filed on or after July 1, 2010. The updated 2011 NYCECC, based on the 2010
ECCCNYS, affects all applications filed on or after December 28, 2010..
