IES Call for Members
IES Committees invite you to share your expertise in helping develop future lighting recommendations by submitting an application for membership on a committee of your choice.
Joining an IES committee has many benefits. Networking with your peers, learning new perspectives in your area of specialty, contributing to best practice standards, and strengthening skills you already have. Members are typically expected to make the following time commitments:
- Attend face to face meetings at LightFair or the IES Annual Conference.
- Committee working sessions via webinars and/or conference calls approximately once a month.
- Members are expected to actively research, write, find or contribute images, and generally keep the standard up to date with best practices and technology.
The IES invites applications from interested parties to participate in revisions to several IES standards:
- ANSI/IES RP-1 Office Lighting
- IES RP-4 Library Lighting
- ANSI/IES RP-7 Industrial Lighting
- ANSI/IES RP-3 Educational Facilities
- IES RP-11 Residential Lighting
- IES DG-25 Hospitality Lighting
