IESNYC Honors the 2024 Service Award Recipients
The IESNYC proudly acknowledges and honors outstanding individuals through its esteemed Service Awards program. These awards recognize the dedication, service, and significant contributions of individuals who have tirelessly worked to advance the mission and success of the IESNYC and the lighting community at large. This year, the IESNYC recognized four of our members who make our section shine.
On behalf of the IESNYC, I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to all the recipients of the 2024 IESNYC Service Awards,” said Shoshanna Segal, President of the IESNYC (Hartranft Lighting Design). “Your exceptional dedication, passion, and hard work have greatly enriched our section and the lighting industry as a whole. We are truly grateful for your remarkable contributions and the enduring impact you have made. Your efforts inspire us all and set a high standard for excellence.”
IES SECTION MERITORIOUS SERVICE AWARD

Mike Barr, Lutron
Mike Barr is an exceptional leader. A role model. And a mentor to the IESNYC community and beyond. Over the decades, many individuals and committees have benefited from his thoughtful, objective, and professional counsel. And he has guided our section to higher and higher levels of success.
He was President during the fear and loss of the pandemic, and his business acumen has preserved the section’s financial stability – allowing us to do more, to give more, and to do better. Mike has advocated enthusiastically for equity in lighting and is always eager to learn and grow himself. He has a unique style of coaching. Students, E.P.s, and even industry veterans. So many of us in the IESNYC are achieving so much and doing so well, thanks to Mike.
