IESNYC Launches New Platform for Our Newest Members to Engage

The IESNYC launches a new platform for our newest members to engage with in the IESNYC and the lighting community.

IESNYC Next Generation has been formed to give Student Members and Emerging Professionals a place to get together for virtual events, creative activities, and networking opportunities.

IESNYC Next Generation will have a home on Discord, which will allow our members to take part in open chats and group discussions with peers. It will also be a place for virtual game nights, workshops, and presentations. Members can look forward to virtual and onsite project and installation tours given by lighting design teams, manufacturers, and others involved. It’s a great opportunity to gain insights into design and lighting strategies from the teams as well as network with them. 
 
We're eager to foster interactions and collaborations that will further inspire and motivate students to turn up their creative design skills and excel at bringing forth noteworthy projects. Events, such as the upcoming 2022 IESNYC Student Lighting Competition, are an ideal way to utilize the engagement opportunities of IESNYC Next Generation.

We know you have ideas to share with us. Questionnaires will soon be distributed to Student Members and EPs. We want you to help us sculpt content and programs. Please reach out to [email protected] to ensure you are on the IESNYC Next Generation emailing list when activities kick off in the coming weeks. To all of our IESNYC members, we are counting on you to reach out to your students, mentees, and young professionals to tell them about our new group that’s designed just for them.
