Join the IESNYC Today

The Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES) is the recognized technical authority on illumination. For over 100 years; its objective has been to communicate information on all aspects of good lighting practice to its members, to the lighting community, and to consumers, through a variety of programs, publications, and services.

IES is almost 8,000 members strong. Its members work with lighting in a variety of capacities - lighting designers, architects, interior designers, government and utility personnel, engineers, contractors, manufacturers, distributors, researchers and educators—throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico - and around the world.

The IESNYC is the New York City Section of the IES comprised of close to 600 local volunteers engaged in a professional capacity of illumination, the art or science of illuminating engineering, illuminating literature or a related field.

The IESNYC’s monthly meetings, lectures, project tours, seminars, classes, and cocktail hours provide knowledge, inspiration and networking opportunities for lighting professionals and students alike. All of IESNYC’s featured monthly events are available to members, non-members and the public, and many of these events provide the opportunity to earn continuing education credits.

To join IESNYC, you must first submit your online application to the IES and then contact IES at 212-248-5000 to affiliate your membership with the New York City Section. Join now at
